Look Up

Miguel looked up, hoping that the moon would be out and give him inspiration. His breath caught in his throat. There was a woman on the balcony looking into the crowd. Colors flooded into him. The touch of the woman on his arm was now a burden.

"I don't think this will work out," he said to the woman, staring into her eyes as his voice went down an octave and he pushed his command. "We just met. You want to wait for the right man. He will come soon, but you will wait."

"Of course, Miguel," she said, and she walked away as if nothing had happened between them.

Miguel looked back up towards the woman. He had to meet her. She was everything in that moment.
