"Wait, wait!" shouted a voice from the city.
Three gatekeeper stopped suddenly to keep the giant entrance ajar ever so slightly.
A female with luxurious blonde hair stopped just inside the gate to the city, breathing laboriously from her jaunt.
"You must excuse my subject, the Lion" she said. "He has many strengths, but hospitality us not one of them. I bid you, please do not leave. I believe I know from where you come, or at least from WHEN."
Maxx put his hammer on his shoulder and turned to see Glenda the Good who looked......well very good. She was very beautiful and charismatic, much like the Queens of old. He could clearly see kindness and compassion in her eyes. It was almost impossible to hate such a woman even in bad times. It was obvious she ran to catch up with him when she found out he had left. He let her catch her breath as she was clearly out of shape. He found was typical of magic users since they spent to much time in a library learning magic and not enough getting exercise.
Maxx: I see.........….so your gumpy lion does not speak for you. If you know what I am then it will make things easier for me.
Maxx looked at the munchkin guards around him as he noticed the concerned look on their faces as Glenda was breathing hard.
Maxx: I am Maxx, last of the Emerald Golems of old. I have traveled long and far to get here and have seen many ruins along the way. It was obvious the witches of the East and West destroyed many lands besides my own before they were defeated. I have recently broken free from the amber prison I was in for many cycles. I came here hoping to start a new life as an emerald smith and miner. However I questioned my decision after being mocked by your lion guard till you came to me in this state. You must be in dire straits to give chase to one such as myself. This is the first I have ever seen Royalty go this far for my kind. So tell me Queen Glenda the Good, what use do you have for an old relic such as I?
