Star Trek: Defiance is meant to be something a little less like other Star Trek works. This is, despite the stigma implied in these words, a "dark and gritty" approach to the material. However it's not without reason.
The Federation has seen some tough times. The Borg recently managed to overrun the Alpha Quadrant, forcing what remained of the Federation to flee to the Gamma Quadrant where they were forced to become subservient to the Dominion. What followed was the darkest year in Federation history, as various starship crews operated as renegades and rebels in an attempt to overthrow the Dominion and devise a plan to take back their home.
Good news is they succeeded. And now the Federation is in the process of rebuilding, with the help of the new Changeling Protectorate in the Gamma Quadrant providing support. It's a new, bright era for the Federation. However, actions from the last two years since our hard-fought victory are beginning to resurface with potentially dire consequences.
Which is where you come in.
Take command of your own starship (or join a ship's crew), from any period in the history of the series, and get together with other ships to explore the galaxy and get into a number of adventures!
Rules are fairly standard for a game like this. Don't be crude, don't be mean, and no godmodding.
The level of content should be in the PG-13 range, so no sex or excessive violence.
