Fine with me

(OOC – Two Orla posts in a row? Oh, the humanity! Since this story takes place in the past before the rest of the current events in the game, I think it's okay to give it less priority if you like, SC. It's also more than okay if you don't want to take on writing Thalia right now either. I emailed you last week about the Queen and didn't hear back from you on that.)

- Verden, just outside Skeldergate Forest, evening, 547 DBTR -

"I am sure that we won't be needing the guards and I was not planning on bringing them either. However, the only way I will be able to get rid of them is if we leave before daybreak. Is that still alright with you?"

Orla was pleased and somewhat surprised as all Nate's reservations left him and he flashed her a confident smile. The impetuousness of youth! she thought, bemused. She nodded agreeably. "Mmm-hmm, that would be fine with me. We can start off just ahead of false dawn, which should give us enough light to see where we're going."

His guards would no doubt try to track down their missing royal charge, and would have a difficult time of it once she'd cast a spell that would make their tracks appear to go in the opposite direction. She was about to suggest that Nate leave a written note so the men would not overly worry, but she stopped short, not wanting him to think too much about the consequences of sneaking off, lest he have second thoughts about the whole thing.

Orla was still not used to dealing with humans and even with her telepathy she found the prince hard to predict, but it gladdened her that he had such an appreciation for nature, and that he was so eager to take in the unspoiled sights of the forested hinterland she called home.
