Rite of Marking

((Dalen Archives, 2 YSTR))

Lorcan drew a drop of blood from his finger, holding it out to Enanth. The master wizard extended a hand as if to shake Lorcan's, the drop now floating off his finger and to Enanth. The blood slowly floated forward as the mage gathered himself.

"Liga et pones cor tuum in sanguine huius libri hujus, ut notum est nobis Lorcan," he evoked with power.

The blood drop fell upon the cover of the book as the lines of the circles began to glow softly. It looked to be absorbed into the cover without a trace as he once more incanted.

"Liga et pones cor tuum in sanguine huius libri hujus, ut notum est nobis Lorcan."

The tendrils of the Weave answered his beckoning as they wrapped first around the book, then to Lorcan. To those that had the sight to see it, the Weave tightened until it was two cords. One tied to the magic circle, the other from the book to Lorcan.

"Liga et pones cor tuum in sanguine huius libri hujus, ut notum est nobis Lorcan," Enanth finished, releasing the Weave. The circle's light died out as the magic left. It was only as the last of it dissipated that he removed the book from the circle.

"There you go, Master Lorcan," Enanth spoke, handing the book to him. "I hope that we receive your patronage once more in the closer days."
