Nothing to see here

---- Edge of Skeldergate Forest - Lorcan's Farm ----

"Hello. I'm a Brownie." the tiny guy answered. A brownie? Tancred had never heard about those before. The smallest humanoid creatures he'd ever encountered before had been elfs and gnomes but they still were significantly higher than this one.

He leaned a bit closer to get a better look at this unusual little visitor. There were so many questions he wanted to ask him, but before he even got the chance the door opened. This startled the little guy who then, to Tancreds big surprise, quickly seeked refuge between his feet.

"Hide me?" the little man asked, clearly not wanting to be discovered by Karl. To be honest Tancred didn't want him to be found either as this was the most exciting thing that had happend to him in years.

"Of course" he replied as he looked around trying to come up with a good hiding spot. Quickly he grabbed the guy by the scruff of his neck as carefully as possible, lifted him up and placed him on the bed which was just within reach. Here the guy would be able to hide underneath the covers until Karl had left.

Having done this Tancred now grabbed his book once more and started pretending to be reading again. It appeared Karl had heard some of the frantic motions because he decided to pause and look at Tancreds cell, which he usually never did. For a moment or two he just stood there, but when Tancred didn't appear to do anything other than "read", Karl soon lost interest and went back to his room.

Tancred waited a little before he once again put down his book and turned to check on the little guy on the bed. "Allright, you can come out now. I don't think he'll be back right away." he still spoke in a low voice, just to be sure the others wouldn't notice.
