Moving On

(OOC - To Jaxx. Not to be rude or anything, but I know it's nice to have a character who can do just about anything and beat up everyone with ease, but it's not very realistic. Would you please try to be a bit more realistic about your characters abilities and remember that he actually is traveling through a country where slavery is allowed and he would get in serious trouble if he kept on just killing all the slavers and took over all the city's he came by. Thank you ^^ )

Sorry I was just assuming those slavers lacked real combat skill. Trained fighters would be a much different story. I assumed most slavers are the weak bully types with a little skill or strength and could not cut it as a Merc. or soldier.

Jack saw LeLu was looking a bit worn out so he decided to let her rest as he made camp for the day. He saw the bruises on her neck from where her collar used to be and the ones on her wrists and ankles. She had dark bags under her eyes and looked malnourished. It was obvious she had been suffering for a month or two at least. He then lit a fire and began to cook some bear meat and vegetables over the fire on a skewer. As the food cooked he looked at her with concern.

Jack: Don't you have a family to find?

LeLu: I don't know.

Jack: Are you lost?

LeLu nodded her head as she looked down in fear.

Jack: I see. So why follow me?

LeLu: Because you are an elf right? You could help me right? I have never been out of my home before.

LeLu had pleading eyes as she hoped to be accepted by Jack.

Jack: Yeah..... something like that. To be honest I don't know this area either. I am just winging it so I wouldn't know where to look.

LeLu: I see....... can I still stay with you.

Jack: You just don't want to be alone again huh?

LeLu: Yes.........they were going to sell me as a sex slave.

Jack: That makes sense, but you are assuming I am different from them.

LeLu: You are different......... not once have you looked at me like they did and you set us free without profit or care. Why did you do that?

Jack: Yeah well that was dumb on my part. I was just testing my skills on them since no one would miss them. Guys like that are trash and easy to find, but I think if I keep doing it I will get noticed in a bad way. You see I meant it when I said I am new to the area. Right now I am just exploring the area since I am trying to find my place in this world.

LeLu: Ca......can I stay with you? Please! If I am alone they will find me again.

Jack: Who will find you? If you are in danger I need to know if they are still coming.

LeLu: The ones who attacked my home and killed my people. I know not who they were, but I remember the red armor they wore. My father had me escape through a secret passage before he fought them. I waited for weeks for my people to find me, but instead I was found by slavers till you came by. I have been a slave for two months now.

Jack: So are you a princess or something?

LeLu: Yes I am the 3rd Princess of the Farstrider clan. Sadly I may be the last as well. Our clan only had about 500 people in it. I know not why we were attacked nor who was behind it, but I will never be safe unless I am with someone strong like you.

Jack sighed as he knew she was bringing trouble to his life.

Jack: I see.......fine do what you want, but if you stay with me a few things will need to change.

LeLu: Such as?

Jack: Well for starters you can't call yourself a Princess anymore. It will attract attention from the people who want you dead. Also you will use my last name when you introduce yourself to hide your identity. You will act as my wife to hide your true identity since I am in no mood to get attacked by your enemies. If you ever spot them let me know so we can escape. No matter how strong I am being out numbered is plain foolish. And lastly we will need to get you some decent clothing.

Jack pulled out a cloak from his backpack for her to wear since the rags she was wearing didn't cover much.

LeLu: Thank you Jack.

Jack: Do you have any skills or talents?

LeLu: Yes I can track and use a bow. I can also play the flute.

Jack: Good it will look more convincing if we looking like Mercs.

LeLu: You wish to become a Merc?

Jack: Not really unless we need the money. I just prefer to look like one to avoid being hassled.

LeLu: I see. May I ask where you are from?

Jack: My mom raised me deep south from here.

LeLu: What type of elf are you?

Jack: All in good time LeLu. I still don't trust you yet. Mom told me to take it slow with trust, especially with females.

LeLu: I am sorry. You have your own burdens as well.

Jack: That's an easy way to explain it. Here eat up you will need your strength.

They ate the roasted meat and vegetables till they were full. Jack was surprised to see LeLu ate way more than he did. He found it hard to believe she could eat so much since the only fat on her body was her chest. He turned a bit red as he realized he was actually looking at her chest and looked away. Once she was rested and full they put the fire out and made their on. Jack found some horse tracks and with LeLu's help they followed them hoping to find a town or city to visit. Hours later they made their way to a city and after asking a guard they found the armory and entered it. After checking out what they had LeLu chose some studded green leather armor. he was glad the armor covered up her bruises. Jack paid for it and took her to the Archery store to find a decent archery set. After browsing around she found something she could use and Jack dropped some more coin on her behalf. Then they headed to the weapon smith and bought her a pair of fighting knives in case she needed a back up weapon. Once they were outside LeLu leaned to whisper to Jack.

LeLu: How will I ever repay you? This was very expensive.

Jack: I'm sure we will find a way.

LeLu: Will my body be enough?

Jack chuckled at LeLu's response as he turned red.

Jack: Relax you can work it off as we do a few Merc jobs. No need to go that far. You hardly know me LeLu.

LeLu: Thank you Jack. I promise to repay you one day.

Jack: Yeah well we have time for that later on. How about we find an Inn since it will be to dangerous to sleep on the street or in the forest while protecting you.

LeLu: You wish to sleep with me?

Jack: Relax I can sleep on the floor. You need to recover your strength and I doubt you are used to roughing it.

LeLu: You shame me with your kindness.

Jack: Like I said worry about that stuff later. We can have open conversations in public.

LeLu: Of course. I believe the guard mentioned an Inn this way.

Jack and LeLu entered the Inn as a coupe and asked for a large bed or two singles. The owner gave him a key to a room with one large bed and Jack paid for the room. After checking out the room they decided to get some sleep and explore the city the next day since it was getting late.
