Possibly

Simon nodded as Katya explained the limits of her training and what was typical for her to detect. He looked over his shoulder and spoke, "I know, that seemed to be a very well planned ambush anyways. The gall to take on a Verden caravan and then how organized the attackers were in regards to each other. That was not an amateur attack." Shaking his head, he dropped into silence and rode along, scanning the woods for threats and possible bedding spots.

They had been riding for a while and he had seen a few questionable locations, but upon further thought, he decided against them. If he could see them very clearly from the road, then they would not serve their purposes very well. No, they would not work at all.

Hearing Katya's question, he smirked before speaking, "Well, that is a common trait of most forests. But, hold here. I think I might see something." Stopping Maddox, he sropped down from his saddle and pulled his axe from his belt as he moved into the underbrush. Pushing through the short bushes and saplings, he cleared the initial underbrush and saw a spot of sunlight deeper in. Walking towards it, he could see the remnants of a fire, but it had been dead for quite a while.

Stepping into the clearing, he looked around and saw a depression in the ground that reswmbled a sleeping figure. Kneeling down beside the depression, he scanned the clearing warily before nodding and tilting his head to the side. It would provide slight grazing for the horses, but they could eat the leaves of some of the bushes. It was also big enough for all four of them and they could cook something if they needed.

Standing up, he moved back to the road, calling out as he emerged to avoid an arrow being fired his way, "I'm coming back out. Alright, I think I found a suitable clearing, come this way." Clicking his tongue to beckon Maddox over, he began to lead the stallion through the underbrush.
