Fear, panic and hope

The way this man looked at her made her feel uneasy and she struggled not to let it show. When he finally asked his question her fear was almost completely replaced by the dreadful feeling of complete and utter hopelessness. “I am so sorry, but I am lost as well” it was like saying the words out loud suddenly made this fact even more real than it had been to her before and a sort of panic started to spread through her. How were she ever going to get out of this forest? What if she campout here all by herself? With all the monsters that probably were lurking in here, she wouldn’t have a chance of making it through the night. And what about this stranger? What if he would try to rob her? Or maybe raipe and/or murder her?!

It all became too much for her and she was almost about to burst into tears, but still managed to grab her small dagger from it’s place on the saddle. She held it so tight her knuckles went white and held it towards him, ready to at least try and defend herself if he were to try and do any of the horrible things she’d just imagined. “I am really sorry. Please, don’t try and rob me or anything. I don’t have any valuables on me. I have just had everything taken by an old man and a vampire… They even took my spare dresses…” she said, almost sobbing.

Then she started to get an idea. Maybe she could make him help her? After a little hesitation she added “If.. If you can help me get my stuff back, I will pay you 200 gold coins. I don’t have them on me at the moment, but they are hidden a place only I know of.”. If he really would agree to this, she would be able to get her book back and continue her quest. Of course, she almost had to start all over, but it would be all worth it if it could bring back her love in the end.
