Predicting problems

---- The Border Forest, near Jocelynn's Inn/Brothel, Late Afternoon, 0 DSTR ----

It surprised Gareth that the wraith was able to find something like an brothel or inn here, in what felt like the middle of the forest, but when hearing Ceridens explanation regarding it's peculiar location it kind of made sense.

As they approached the place, Gareth became increasingly more and more anxious. He had never been allowed to stay at a place like that, at least not inside. The only time he had been inside was together with Sabina were he ended up being dragged out and chained in the stable by some angry demon. What if they would do the same thing here? He might not wear the chains anymore and had got new clothes, but he still feared people recognizing him as a slave or previous slave. More precisely, he felt that his hair in particular would give him away. It was longer than was deemed to be fashionable for men as far as he knew and had clearly never been touched by a comb. If only he had something to cut it or tie it up with, eventhough he doubted that any of these quick solutions would improve much.

"Do you think you will be able to control yourself in this place?"

This question only added to Gareths anxiety since this was obviously going to be their biggest worry. It was one thing to be around people when outside where there were less noice, more air and escape routes. Inside everything would be more concentrated and thereby harder to ignore for his sensitive sensorysystem. In addition to this, there would also likely be more people and fewer escape routes which would increase the risk of getting too close to somebody. And this was only some of his worries regarding staying at the inn.

On the other side, Ceriden, who appeared to be exhausted, really needed some proper food and a good night's sleep. And it couldn't be argued that I certainly would be much safer to rest indoors than out here on the forest floor. Furthermore, thanks to his large meal earlier today, Gareth weren't even hungry at the moment, so it should be a lot easier for him to resist all the temptations that were likely to be inside the inn.

It took him quite awhile, but finally Gareth made up his mind. The well-being of his traveling companion definitely had to be put above his own worries. "I.. I think I'll be allright. If only I'm allowed inside, that is...". This kept troubling him, but no matter the case he certainly didn't want it to prevent Ceriden from staying the night indoors.
