Arrival at the Capital

*The Road Between Radogast and the Capital, Evening, 1 DSTR*

The journey to the capital ended up being uneventful, which was ideal. At first, Auriel discussed the weather, news, and other such things with Isai, breaking the proverbial ice. After that, she told Isai a few of the less-confidential things that she'd been up to recently. She also explained who Jack and LeLu were, and why she was so eager to get them involved.

She learned a little about Isai and Lars, and some of the going ons in the Capital. Isai told her about a rude mercenary and a rebellious fey that Gularzob had asked him and Lars to help out the day before, which Auriel found intriguing. Isai didn't seem to know what their exact goals had been, but he was pretty sure they were up to something unusual.

Eventually, an awkward silence settled in as they ran out of things to talk about. At this point, several hours had gone by, and the sun had long since fallen out of the sky. The excitement, strains, and stresses of the day caught up to Auriel, and she felt herself becoming drowsy. She tried to resist the temptation to doze off, but then...

================================

... Auriel woke up to the sensation of someone shaking her.

"Huh, wha...?"

Auriel was slouched in the carriage seat, still fully encased in armor except for her helmet, which was between her feet on the floor.

"We're there," Isai stated.

Auriel shook her head to try to combat her grogginess, "Oh, shoot, sorry. How long was I out?"

"A couple of hours. Fortunately, our driver has gotten us to our destination safely and didn't betray us," Isai responded.

"Thank the gods for that," Auriel mumbled, putting on her helmet and picking up one of the steak bags. She followed Isai out of the carriage and took the other steak bag while Isai tipped the driver. He then took the bag back.

"Are you familiar with where we are?" Isai asked.

"I've been here before, but it's been awhile, and that was during the day," she replied. "Can you lead the way?"

"I can," the tax auditor replied before turning and walking toward one of the streets leading deeper into the capital. Auriel yawned and followed.

(OOC - Enderslayer, I'll give you till Sunday to bring in Shade and Draken if that is what you want to do. If you don't get out a post by then, I will continue this narrative without you.)
