Local Riff-Raff

-Dalen Capital, Lower Quarter. Night, 2 DSTR-

Gularzob could not help but feel as if everything was moving in both double time and half speed around him. The events transpired at the speed of a swift hammer strike to forge weld steel to itself, but the conversation and investigation were moving like a slug through cold molasses. Walking away from the group after he removed Kline's grip from the priests neck, he shot the scrawny man a glare when he called him his "son." Shaking his head, he went to the foyer of the main building and retrieved his tools that he had brought with him. The bag could easily attach to his belt, and he pulled from it a short dagger and a 4 pound steel hammer.

Coming back as the others were leaving to gather their arms and armor, Gularzob stood beside Kline and the City Watch officer. He glanced between the two, wondering if he should say something to break the ice. Thankfully, Kalena returned in her usual manner and brought everyone's attention to her. Clenching his teeth slightly to keep himself from commenting, he felt ashamed when he saw the armor she was wearing. He had thought to accompany them until he could split off to his home, but seeing her dressed that way worried him. What if the stress fractures took this very excursion to be the perfect opportubity to break. She could die and it would entirely be his fault because he had failed to complete her commission. No, he will have to accompany them. Nodding slightly, he turned to glance at the stable, thinking of taking one of her horses when he realized he would be too heavy for all of them. Sitting on both Enyo and Kline's horse would push their limits, and they were the largest stress available.

Sighing with acceptance for his situation, he began loosening up his legs as they made final preparations to release the hounds. Seeing them return from obtaining the scent, he moved forward towards the others and embedded himself within their ranks. If he ran behind them the whole way, he would seem like an angry orc looking for an easy kill. He would be considered more of a priority by the City Watch and they would shoot him in the back. No, he would have to run within the horsemen, where he would at worst look like a prisoner being transported, therefore already claimed and unkillable.

Taking off at a jog, he was able to keep up with the horses until they began galloping as they got closer to the dogs. Shaking his head as he exerted more effort, he does up to a sort of gallop of his own, long strides matching those of the horses. It was a trait of his stronghold, the ability to run alongside horses for hours on end, never losing ground or speed as they went. Recognizing the changes in the architecture, he realized where they were going befoee the others saw the arch. They were going to his home, or at least the region where he lived when he wasn't with his kin.

Pausing as the others spoke, he shook his head and pushed through the horses, passing Kline and moving to stand under the arch. Following the dogs with his eyes as they continued onwards, he shot a glance towards the handlers before speaking with just a dash of contempt, "They might be able to track, but are your beasts do untrained that they can't sit by our side and allow us to strategize? Pitiful."

Turning back to face the dogs, he was beginning to take a step when the others began speaking. Looking over his shoulder, he spoke with a slight smirk, "Don't worry yourselves so much. You've been in the company of one of the local riff-raff all night with no cause for concern, at least not from me. The people here live poorly, but they love their lives and wouldn't risk losing them by attacking a heavily armed party such as us."

With his point states, he let the smirk dissipate and started through the arch at a sprint, determined to catch the hounds before the others in order to make his point.
