Big and Small

Erik only grimaced at the old dwarves screams.
"Calm yourself elder, the savage ways of my kin are lost to those who dwell in the Middle Realm. Although I will apologize in advance for any bits I break off due to my size."
Acting formal towards them, he felt no ill will towards dwarves, just an age old grudge.
Many fights between Jotun and dwarves(whether from drunken brawls to full on declarations) had left a bitterness between the two. This brought a quick thought of Dyvia, she didn't show it if she also felt the grudge.
As if to put his apology to good use, he stretched up in his thoughts, crunching his head against the ceiling. A silenced curse led many around the group to momentarily question their ease around the giant, others of his kind had started swinging due to much less irritations.

Dyvia chuckled at the clumsiness of the giant, although she had forgiven him for her locket, she felt satisfaction in his discomfort.
She had heard tales of the old grudge between her people and Erik's, some of them leading to great battles across the mountains of Midgard.
One in particular had always caught her attention, a tale of a being much larger than her companion. His name was lost to time, but it was said that he had a liking for dwarven ale, so much so that he would drain whole mines dry of their supply, though in return he would mine up vast amounts of earth for his friends. One day, a mine he frequented often decided to curb his thirst, replacing his tankard of ale with one filled with pine sap.
Taking a hearty draught, he was outraged at the foul taste. revealing the deception, their taunts and laughter were silenced as the massive being began culling the mine.
Using the pick he used to mine the earth, he created massive crags that swallowed dwarves whole into the abyss, while at the same time laying waste to the mechanisms used to haul ore and dirt.
He was eventually slain for his vicious attacks, though many lives were lost in the attempt.
Dyvia shivered as she was brought back to the present. To think that Erik was docile compared to many of his kind, yet able to level hills in order to throw the boulders in rage. She wondered also if he would grow any bigger, Jotun were said to take on many sizes, some even able to pass as human.
Waving the distracting thoughts away, she walked over to where the Elder cowered.
"Please Elder, we need assistance traveling safely through these lands and we are told you know how best to do so."
