Rock and a Hard Place

~Farther down the mountain side~
As the avalanche finally slowed its descent, the mountain grew quiet once more. Tree roots stuck out of the snow and boulders had been carried away from thier lofty perches.
No life revealed itself for a time, either killed or run off, but eventually a small pile of snow began growing.
As it grew, the pile split and crumbled, revealing a tunnel and a man.
Theo was startled by the sudden brightness of day, but was grateful to feel the biting winds attack his skin.
Looking around him, he knew he was lost, any markers he could have used were now buried.
Making sure he had his equipment and then checking his body, he found only minimal injuries and a few supplies lost.
"Alright, looks like I'm demanding payment for this trip."
No longer hunting for the money, he needed to right the wrong placed by that damned elf. He had killed many before her, so he was still confident that she would fall soon.
Reaching for his bow, he strung it with ease and made sure it was in good enough condition.
"Let's add a few more bodies to the bounty."
Spotting a bird soaring high above him, he aimed an arrow and fired.
A few minutes passed, then a soft thud in the snow let Theo know the bow worked just fine.
