A Dark Decision

Balar listened to the others and gave a firm nod. "So it agreed we go right."

He strode towards the door and heaved against the splintered timbers. Jorrik came over to give aid and as they lifted their eyes locked.

"The witch speaks of a willing sacrifice." Balar said under his breath.

"What more did she say." Jorrik flashed Cali a look of annoyance before returning his focus to the task. They heaved against the door as it slowly creaked open. What ever had shattered the frame had jammed it good.

"No more, but I guess her meaning."

"Do not interfere." Jorrik hissed as the door gave way, "Do not let the others interfere. They will try but do not let them. It must be this way."

"So be it." Balar replied before turning to the others, "Let's go."

They moved into a long narrow corridor that eventually switched round to the left. There were no other doors or turnings and after a time the ground began to climb until they came to another splintered doorway. This time the door was complete shattered inwards and its remains were strewn about on the floor beneath.

From the opening grey stone steps passed down into a sunken chamber, the ground obscured by thick white mist. Up ahead the torches revealed the shape of another wide doorway and along either side of the room sat row upon row of raised sarcophagus. Each appeared to be intricately carved and adorned with gilt and jewels.

"What every Necromancer dreams of." Majvoc murmured, "A hall full of stone coffins."

"Leave them be." Tiella breathed, "Let us get through here as quickly as possible."
