A Prearranged Violation

OOC: I’m not sure exactly how to reconcile these latest series of events with the recent exchange of words between Caligari and Dyvia so either the events below and those in the post titled - Betrayal take place prior to that verbal exchange or replace it all together? I’ll leave it up to the Mod to decide if I got too far ahead of the action on that one.

<Tiella raised the elven dagger and plunged towards the back of Caligari, releasing a pulse of death magic as she did so in an attempt to break through her wards.

"Cali watch out!" Jorrik screamed as Tiella lunged towards the back of the witch.

Luna turned just in time to see Tiella raise her blade towards Caligari. She held up her free hand and the shadows moved and entangled Tiella.>

Amdir and Naurfast died. Cali had not known them and their loss was no great loss, but they had proven a considerable threat to Araghol the Necromancer. And which made it all the more confounding that the dwarf had bashed in the great wolf’s head. There were plenty of quarry if she wished to help even the playing field.

Events quickly moved beyond Caligari’s control. She heard the warning shouted from the knight and thought to put herself in motion to turn and face this new danger, but she’d barely begun that action. Luna’s shadows were swift and struck across the room, making to attack Caligari or meet this threat. The Witch of the North had no way of knowing which. Luna’s shadows were fast, but Cali held the favor and service of the dead, and the dead transitioned between realms as opposed to traversing the distance intervening two points. They were faster.

Gossamer spirits converged on the Witch and breached the lacerations at her abdomen, defiling her body. Ghostly fingers lifted back flaps of that skin and tissue, opening the wound from within. Those same spirits burst forth in an amber miasma that cocooned the woman in a tangible shield, a dome infused by magic, death and her own blood.
