Through the portal!

Varan was tossed about on the dizzying bumpy ride. "Ow ow ow ow ow..." She called before landing unceremoniously on her tail. Just as quickly, she sprang to her feet. In all the rushing and with being preoccupied with the cool as hail wolf, she hadn't made much note of who had jumped through the portal or not. She'd heard of portals, and even seen a mage conjure them once, but that was her first jump.

Looking around, she took note. The Jotunn was gone, no Giant to kill. The snooty elves were still there, fawning over the seductive man who looked a little worse for wear. Olin. The name rolled on the tongue like honey. Ohhhh-Lin. The half-elf decided a second and third look were warranted. One more for bad measure.

"Burns and Ashes." Varan finally swore, letting her claws retract. The human and his dead mistress were missing. There was no Giant to fight. The would-be assassin the dark elf female tried to sic on her was gone. Miles, the giant wolf creature hadn't followed. Her arm stung a bit, likely from being lobbed about in the portal. Noticing a smudge on her inner wrist, she licked her thumb, but after vigorously rubbing it was clear but the blot was under the skin. Bruises are temporary badges of honor for battles. She reminded herself.

She took a defensive stance just in case. "Are we still fighting?" she woozily asked no one in particular, hoping there was someone worthy to fight.
