Jocelyn looked around a bit, "I say we stay here...at least for now..." he said. "It's already to late in that day to keep moving especially if it starts to rain again. We'd never get another fire going with all the wet wood out there." he explained. "We are safe. Nothing can get past the fence. All those little bits of rocks and wood and things tied on the fence are things every monster in the area avoids. I think it's some way of what ever made this place to control where they go." Jocelyn likely sounded crazy suggesting this place was fabricated but it made sense to him.
"I... just don't want to go back out there. I think more students are out there...not like we want to find." he said. "The kind we'd have to..." he paused. "You know...Deal with."
Jack looked around and sighed as he also thought that was a good idea for now. Traveling in the dark meant being monster bait and hardly any place was not a death trap these days. Jack was lucky in that he gained his Monster Tamer Cheat ability and two tamed monsters in a short time otherwise he would have died long ago. Now he finally found a living person, Jocelyn, who was apparently struggling like himself and with no cheat powers to boot. Though he didn't fully trust Jocelyn, he also didn't see him as a psychopath like the three he killed. So for now he decided to play it cool and see how their luck holds out.
Jack: Fair enough Jocelyn. We can stay here for now and plan a better way to find the Expedition group. If we find survivors we can deal with them one way or another. Since trust is a luxury right now I'll camp out here. Lily can turn into a tent and Rose can watch over us since she doesn't sleep. I know they are a bit intimidating but they do understand our language. If you need to call for me simply ask Lily to wake me up. If we need to collect supplies before we leave you might want to let us know what to look for.
Two months after the village was established. One teacher vanished. Presumed dead. A strange collection of creatures that looked like something out of Planet of the Apes but far less advanced culture wise. Captured him, intending to eat him until they saw he looked like a god in one of their carvings. He is now currently living in a strange village about 1 mile away from Jocelyn's small camp.
Deckard soon found himself as the Idol of the White Horned Ape. Since no one really had a better name for them at the time they all stuck with the obvious name. Since the White Horned Ape was omnivorous, they had hunters and gatherers to provide food since farming and ranching were unknown to them. As the gatherers set off to find edible plants, fruits, vegetables and herbs, the hunters worked in packs to get meat. Granted there were many monsters in the forest they were picky about their targets since Dark magical Wooden Puppets were inedible and dangerous. They avoided slimes since they tasted nasty and were usually in high numbers. However they did prefer to eat large reptiles, especially they plant eating type. They found the meat eaters to dangerous and they tasted odd. So using tactics similar to the wolfpack they would split into three groups which consisted of the Chasers and the two Entrappers who caught the single reptile off guard with their spears. After a successful hunt they would use vines to tie up the reptile to two long branches and carry their meal back to the village. As they arrived they were welcomed by the others in the village as they came back with a good hunt this time. There were times when they came back empty handed which was hard on the village. However they were cheered on as they arrived before a hunt and kneeled down before it. Inside was Deckard who was idolized by them. They were hoping for his blessings on their hunt so they could celebrate.
