Lockdown (Part 15)

The silence was excruciating, but it likely would have been preferable to the sound that finally broke it. The loud clang of a wrench being thrown violently against the bulkhead could be heard through the comm as the old mechanic cursed.

"YOU THINK I'M PLAYIN' AROUND?!?" Patch bellowed, his voice shifting sharply from the cool menace of earlier to white-hot rage!

"You wanna play it like that? Fine!" the big man said, seething. "I didn't wanna have to resort to this. Cap doesn't like it when I make a mess. I gave ya a chance. YOU decided this, not me!"

He sucked his teeth as he considered his next move.

"Now?" the big man growled. "Now I gotta cut ya open."
