Here We Go

Kalo's stomach turned at the gruesome sight of the tongue, which wriggled (independently of its owner, of course), before dying up and being reduced to ash-like dust.

'To conceal evidence?' Kalo wondered.

He peaked his head outside of the door, to the left, then to the right, but the thing was nowhere in sight.

"Where'd it go?" Kalo was low-key frustrated that he couldn't detect the thing. Was he detecting the dog before? No, that wouldn't make sense, he should be able to sense it now too. He shook his head and decided he was getting to the bottom of this right now.

"A'ight Isack, watch my six, I'm going in."

Kalo growled, before walking into the halls on high alert. He almost fell backward when he noticed a tailless abomination of a dog slipping into a room somewhere. No way that was a stray, right? There had to be somebody else. Or maybe more dogs. ~shiver~

'Now, any rational young Black man in this situation would forget this ever happened and walk away. Me? Nah,'

Kalo approached, ever cautious. They had wandered into the robotics wing. Sure, cause this was some sort of new technology, right? Please.

Kalo stood in front of the lab door, hand on the knob, and looked back at Isack one last time.

"This is it, man. I don't know what's behind this door, but we're about to find out."

Kalo's hand tightened, biting his lip in anticipation.

"Here we go," Kalo uttered in rapid fashion, before literally bursting in through the door, unsure of what would be on the other side.
