Positive Thoughts

Farah studied the newcomer. The more time went by, the less her fears about the others seemed rational. Perhaps she was thinking too harshly. They couldn’t be anything but a bunch of people as scared and confused as she was herself, it made more sense than any other explanation. Nonetheless, thinking positively was always more challenging than believing the negative.

“Were...” she stepped forward so Luan could see her fully despite her ability to look over the others heads. It felt like a bold gesture, and she had to cross her arms in front of her chest to fully go through with it. “Were there others? When— when you woke up, were there others with you?” She asked him, studying the ground at his feet seeming it was a more comfortable place to rest her eyes than his face.
