Foxhunt: Little Death Hurt No One ...

Rowan sat in her VIP box looking down on the fight. Neither fighters were jacked into the Vykarian network so she could not taste the violence first hand, it was… frustrating. The Alpha would not have been compatible with the grafts and the Orlock creature had been taken apart and put back together in a way that made her tech team nervous. All those lovely credits she was missing out on by not broadcasting.

“Why are they not killing each other.” she yawned and stretched.

“Mmmnm nnm aah mm.” came the voice from between her legs.

She reached down and pulled the barman's head up sharply by his hair. He gasped as he looked up at her, his eyes wide.

“Chet isn’t it?” she asked, plucking something from between his teeth.

“Yes, boss.”

“You had a suggestion?” She asked.

“The crowd always love it when we do the Flash Gordon thing.” he suggested.

Rowan turned to Red who sat nearby and raised an eyebrow. Red shrugged as she sipped on a tall glass of blue liquid that gave off a thick white mist.

“It is always fun to watch.” Red agreed. “Or you could send in Scar?”

“Perhaps.” Rowan mused as she considered her options.

She gave Chet a pat on the head “good boy.” she breathed heavily as she pushed him back down out of sight. Leaning over to a control panel on her right her hand hovered for a moment before she tapped a large red button with a yellow lightning bolt in the centre.

Down below the lights, all switched to a deep red and the music started to sound… Dun, Dun, Dun, Dun, Dun, Dun, Dun… The crowd clapped along with the beat and on the final Dun they all cried out the word Flash! There was a flash of white light and a loud creaking sound. The arena floor began to tilt this way and that sending the combatants tumbling, while at the same time steel spikes emerged from the floor and walls.

Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun… Flash!

“Ahhhhh, Ahhhhhh!” Rowan screamed out gripping the arms of her chair with white knuckles as Chet earned his bonus.
