Max let his body rock to the music, mouthing along to the words as he scrolled through the karaoke software on the laptop before him, queueing up the next song: his own.

The current song wound down and he took the mic from the singer, shooing them off the stage. Max let himself glow with awe, drawing some attention to himself.

"Well, well, well," he called out. "Hot crowd, hot crowd!"

The stage lighting blinded him to the rest of the bar, but he knew they were all watching him. He reveled in the attention.

"Welcome to Sneaky Dee's Monday Night Spectacular: Legends of Karaoke! I am your host for this, and every other, karaoke evening, Maximillian LaForge. But we're all friends here, so you can call me Max."

He stepped back towards the karaoke set up.

"Alright, I'm getting the music started up again. This is 'I Think I'm OKAY', Machine Gun Kelly," he said and pressed a button on the computer, letting the opening guitar notes of the song start as he took a spot in center stage.

Music was his life and job, he was well-practiced and at ease onstage. He hit all the notes and stuck perfectly to the songs tempo with flourishes, tossing the microphone around and jumping and dancing as he went.

You could always tell the frontmen from the normal patrons. A certain flourish and ease. The stiffness most people had when singing in front of a crowd was gone. They knew how to work the stage and the crowd and Max was no different.
