Nothing Else Matters

Mar looked to Thrass with a deadly serious look. "I'm not buying the damn ship... I'm stealing it."

Once they entered the safe house Mar was met with a concerned Mira who smiled at him as their eyes met. Then VT opted to cling to his leg again, an act that he wasn't in the mood for, so he used the force to brush the clingy droid away. But then a question from Ghost struck him with the gravity of the situation.

"Where's Serenity at?!"

Mar's eyes fell to the floor. "She... she's gone... Liden has her... It's... it's my fault..."

"Dear, why is it your fault?" Mira asked.

"She learned of the truth..." Kavan said. "And she didn't take it well I imagine?"

"No..." Mar sighed.

"What truth?" Mira asked, already agitated.

"When I was working for The Empire... I killed her former master... She didn't even remember me until just now... And... she ran..."

"And got captured by Liden in the process..." Mira looked to Mar, a sad and disappointed look on her face.

Mar wished she'd stop looking at him.

"I'm going to steal a ship... and I'm going to find her. Those of you who want to help... well you're welcome to join me..."

Mira immediately stood up. "I won't let that sweet girl languish in that monstrous woman's clutches!"

Keran hopped onto her shoulder. "Neither will I. We're with you Mar."

All that remained was Thrass and Ghost's responses.

Liden sighed. "You assume me to be evil? Yes it is true I command remnant Imperial forces... And I am a skilled practicioner of the Dark Side... but it is merely a means to an end. Nothing more. I wish to save this galaxy and those who live in it, Serenity. There are forces far darker and more powerful than the piddling bands of Imperial remnant forces and wannabe takers of the Imperial throne. Things that not even The Jedi were aware of..." Liden merely sat as he looked to Serenity. "The Dark Side is tempting to abuse, that I am aware of... it is the ease of which power comes from it that has allowed me to reach this far... I've survived more than most could even fathom... My body was broken... torn... my very soul..." Liden looked down at the table. "...When you have been so far down in the dark as I have it becomes a part of you... Keeps you alive but at great cost..."

She looked to Serenity again.

"I know why you fear The Dark Side... and you have every right to be afraid... I am not asking you to join me on the dark path... I am asking you to help me with a threat that could make the feud between The Jedi and The Sith seem like nothing more than a child's game..." Liden closed her hands together and leaned forward. "I want you to consider my offer... You have great potential, Serenity. I'd hate to see it go to waste..."
