- Citadel of Nyri - Planet Brah'am - Hana Cluster -
excerpt from the first recorded speech of Prophet Dante Onyx to the gathering masses of refugees fleeing the Green Plague decimating the Cluster.
"We, the Cult of the Atlas, have surrendered ourselves to it's memory, to what you would call reason and intellect. We seek absolute awareness, the self-moving thought.
The thoughts of all men arise from the darkness. If you are the movement of your soul, and the cause of that movement precedes you, then how could you ever call your thoughts your own? How could you be anything other than a slave to the darkness that comes before? Only the Atlas allows one to mitigate that slavery. Only knowing the sources of thought and action allows us to own our thoughts and our actions, to throw off the yoke of circumstance. And only the Cult of the Atlas possess this knowledge, brothers and sisters. The galaxy slumbers, enslaved by its ignorance. Only we are awake.
No one’s soul moves alone. When one love dies, one must learn to love another. This fragment of The Atlas offers us redemption. A new path. A cure to the maladies affecting us. The price we are paying for having turned our backs to the glorious teaching of The Atlas is clear for all of you to see. And although we are paying for its destruction dearly and will continue to do so for the rest of our lives, in all its glory and might, some fragments survived to lead the faithful to salvation.
The old revelations have outlived the age of their intention, and I have come to reveal the new. I am the New Path, and I say that you are not damned.
Mourn, grieve as all Men must. But take heart in the fact that a new path shines.
Join our ranks brothers and sister. Believe unquestionably these words and this shard will cure you. Doubt it and will you burn in the twelve hells of Oblivion.
*thousands died crushed beneath the waves of the mobs' feverous enthusiasm that ensued that day as almost every man, woman and child rushed to receive a blessing from the so called Prophet.*
