From Good to Awesome

(( OOC: This takes place a few days before the party ))

"Bye Dad!" Wally waved to his dad from the front door of their house as the latter walked down the front walk to where the Uber driver was waiting. Wally's dad -- dressed in a grey suit and wearing his typical black-rimmed glasses -- turned and waved at his son. "Bye Walter! I'll call you when I get to Denver!"

Wally watched his dad ride off. His mother had left two days ago for a conference in Boston. Now, with his dad gone, he had the house to himself for four solid days.

"Nice."

Inside, Wally made a huge bowl of instant spicy ramen, grabbed a can of soda from the fridge and retreated to his room, padding up the stairs in his socks. He slouched into his desk chair and leaned back, using chopsticks to bring large mouthfuls of spicy noodles into consumption range. Setting the bowl aside, he grabbed a large set of headphones and placed them over his ears, then bumped the wireless mouse on the desk, causing the twin monitors of his desktop PC to light up.

Wally was about to pull up his DAW program to get back to work on some bass sequences he'd been playing with when he noticed there was an email waiting for him. He pulled it up and read through it.

"Awww, hells yeah!" The demo tracks he'd sent off had been well received and he'd been formally offered the role of "Official DJ" at the upcoming Back-To-School party at the Silvertree Estate. Wally wasted no time in banging out a response of acceptance and hit 'send'. He punched the air in triumph and spun in his chair, which turned out to be a mistake, because his headphone cables got tangled.

After a few minutes of correction, he was back into his DAW program, bobbing his head to the sick beats he was sequencing, and cheerfully chewing down mouthfuls of ramen. The weekend was going to be absolutely lit.
