The Fragment

At a Manhattan building at 2 pm on a Saturday a man was working in a lab. The year was 1937 and Dr. Perter Maxximoff was working on his next project. Peter was an American inventor and engineer who discovered and patented the rotating magnetic field, the basis of most alternating-current machinery. He also developed the three-phase system of electric power transmission and had the patent rights to his system of alternating-current dynamos, transformers. He invented the Maxx coil, an induction coil widely used in radio technology.

So in order to push his achievements even further he was working on a way to make his Maxx Coils small and with more power in order to make America a powerhouse in the energy department. Peter had big dreams and put off many things in life like relationships to achieve his dreams. However a month ago he cam across a new metal fragment from a colleague/archeologist friend from college. The fragment was an unidentified piece of metal that gave off a lot of energy. It looked like the tip of a very large spear or sword, but the energy it gave off was larger than twenty of his Maxx Coils put together. However since it was a new and dangerous new energy source he decided to investigate it rather than let the greedy politicians and businessmen abuse it without regarding the consequences.

The metal fragment looked brand new despite being dug up in an era that was thousands of years old. The fragment was protected in a stone chest which was hidden in a buried temple ruin in Scotland. Sadly every time Peter tried to test the power level of the fragment it would overload and melt his equipment. It was becoming very costly to keep doing his research nonstop so he decided to look for other scientists with similar projects going on through investigations and letters.
