Dark Place

He had waited patiently for those folks from the New California Republic to clear off, he didn't want this place being found by anyone else. When finally he was safe in the cover of darkness he began to lift the hatch. It was heavy, as if made to be lifted by multiple men. With as much effort as humanly possible he got it up. Standing to catch his breath for a few moments afterwards. He looked down, there in front of him was a ladder. That would be his ticket into this place.

So he started to descend, entering this lost place. He pulled the hatch shut as he started to climb down, still a challenge. It surely had to be the same place as the map that he had decrypted for the Renne terminal salesman. The walls around him looked to have been built from reinforced metal panels. Syd couldn't determine how old the place was, it didn't look completely clean. There was a strong odour like that of decaying flesh and chemicals. The stench was terrible - even by standards of the wasteland.

Syd held his weapon close to him, just in case anything appeared in the dark. You could never be to careful in a place like this. With every step he took down that endless feeling hallway the stench became more and more overwhelming. He raised his wrist to his face and pressed it against his nose.

Then there was a slight light coming from a corner. It was a luminous green, impressively vibrant. With each step towards it the green got darker, fading until everything was black. Then there was nothing. Syd felt nothing, as if all his senses had been switched off. Something had got him.
