Multiverse IRC Roleplaying event – 13th May

Six months ago I wrote an article about the last Multiverse roleplaying event. The event happens every six months, and the next event will be Friday May 13th – Sunday May 15th 2011.

If you’re not sure what Multiverse is, here’s the explanation from their website:

Multiverse is an event founded and sponsored by the DarkMyst IRC Network and RPG-Hub. It is a freeform, multi-genre, multi-world event where you can truly bring creativity to life.

Players from across all communities, all IRC networks, and all parts of the world are invited to participate in this event. Have you ever wondered what your vampire character from your favorite World of Darkness channel would do if they met another vampire from a completely different world or time period? Or what would happen if your hard-bitten mercenary with a shotgun sees a pixie throwing pixie dust onto a not-so-happy werewolf?

Multiverse is about players meeting new players across completely different games and genres than the norm. It’s about good role-playing, having fun, and empowering creativity and your imagination. If you’re new to IRC role-playing or would like to see what it’s all about, this is the perfect event to observe or get started with. Mark your calendars for this event – you will not want to miss it!

Oh yes, this time there will be prizes to be won. Here’s what Ryan has to say about them:

The top four active players at the end of the event will have their choice of one of the prizes, given in order starting with the most active player. The remaining prizes will be raffled off to the top 50% of the remaining active players. All prizes are electronic, so we can provide them via IRC or e-mail. Winners will be announced on IRC within 48 hours after the event and on the Multiverse website ( Winners will have seven days to claim their prize or they will be raffled off to other players.

The prizes are listed below:

1. $100 gift card (US only)

2. $50 Amazon Gift Card

3. $50 gift card (US only)

4. $20 Amazon Gift Card

5. 5 x $25 Gift Cards (US only) [to be distributed individually]

These prizes are in addition to any in-game prizes that may be offered by the management of your favorite role-playing channels. Individual activity statistics for players will not be available until the end of the event.

At the time of writing, the event schedule is almost empty, but I’m sure as it gets closer to the time of the event, this will get filled with cool events. You can see the event schedule here.
