The 2015 Tournament of Simulation is Now Calling all Entrants

simcup2015UPDATE: The Nomination window has been extended through February 29th, 2016.

Hear ye, hear ye!  Hosts, participants, and club leaders alike are all hereby invited to enter their games into the the oldest and most prestigious competition of the simming and online roleplaying universe:  The Tournament of Simulations!  Indeed, Ongoing Worlds is officially calling on on YOU to enter your simulations and online role plays in the 2015 edition of ToS.  This will be the 11th rendition of the tournament, which was first held in 1999.  Nominations will be accepted through January 31st, 2016. Winners will be announced sometime later.  Here’s how to enter:

Wait a second… What happened to the 2014 Simulation Cup?

Unfortunately, the winners of the 2014 competition have not yet been identified.  However, we’re waiting on just one more judge to finish up before crowning the victors.  Look for an announcement soon!

A few Ground Rules

  • Anyone may enter any game that they are a part of
    • Hosts: role plays they lead
    • Players: role plays they participate in
    • Club leaders: role plays in their clubs
    • Plus anyone else I’m missing!
  • There is no limit to the number of nominations one may make
  • Games that do not place will not be announced–so there’s nothing to lose from entering!

How to Enter

Nominations shall be made using the form below.  One of the lessons learned from last year’s competition (and why the winners still haven’t been announced) is that we simply put too much on the judges.  To correct that error, we’re going to change things up a bit.  Instead of submitting an entire mission/episode for evaluation, play-by-post games only get 10 posts this year.  Play-by-post games should submit a URL for a single post.  The judges will then read that post and the following nine (for 10 total).  Chat games should submit a URL for one chat log.  Since the judges may need context, you are permitted to submit up to 250 words for a backstory and 250 words for what follows the post.

Each nominee’s posts or chat logs will be graded by a panel of impartial judges using set criteria.  Winners will be announced by genre and category sometime in 2016.  If you would like to serve a s judge, please email me at star [dot] idf [at] gmail [dot] com.  Serving as a judge will not affect your game’s changes of winning as you will NOT grade any sims that directly compete against your own.  No prior experience is necessary!

Good luck, everyone!
