JP - The Keep - Its Difyr Again

Difyr arrived. She knelt over Miyuki, blocking the sun as she gently checked her pulse. “Hello Miyuki, it’s Difyr.”

“Hey…” She murmured with a heavy sigh. Difyr would soon realize that Miyuki was just exhausted from overexerting herself. The pregnancy was causing a bit of a strain on her body, too.

“Hey.” Difyr smiled kindly. “You need to take it easier on yourself.”

"I do?" Miyuki sighed heavily. "I'll…I'll be fine."

“For now you are.” Difyr said. “But if you keep overexerting yourself it can cause harm to you and your baby.”

“I’ll try not to push myself so hard from now on…” Miyuki said with a soft sigh, looking down at her lap as she slowly sat up. “I didn’t upset Lek or anyone, did I?”

“He was worried but is fine.” Difyr said, glancing at Lek who was crouched nearby, being quiet and keeping out of the way. “”I would like to examine you when you’re comfortable.”

"Okay…" Miyuki murmured as she settled a hand on her stomach protectively. "I'm sorry for worrying him…uhm, when you have a room for privacy we can do the examination."

“The healing room is ready whenever you are.” Difyr said, offering the kitsune a hand to help her to her feet.

Miyuki took the offered hand and slowly got to her feet, looking toward Lek. “I’m sorry for worrying you…” She told him softly before returning her attention to Difyr. “We can go ahead to the healing room.”

“I’m okay.” Lek said, still looking concerned.

Difyr led Miyuki to the healing room. “I have been assisting in pregnancies and births since I was fourteen.”

Looking back at Lek, thankful for her fur hiding her blush, Miyuki followed Difyr. "Thank you for your assistance, then." She said politely as they entered the healing room. Taking a seat, she set aside her bag and waited for instructions.

Difyr took her time, first making some of that tea from yesterday. “Whatever you had given Pinja she is still asleep, and she needs it.”

"I'm happy it helped," Miyuki said with a tired smile. "I left instructions on how to make it in case she needs more."

“Great. I am hoping that she will finally start getting better now that the pregnancy is over. But…” Difyr shrugged. “She had gone through a lot.” Difyr handed Miyuki a cup of her own tea.

Taking the cup, Miyuki began drinking it slowly. "Thank you," She murmured, gazing down at the cup when she wasn't drinking from it. Being pregnant, having these feelings for Lek, and all the chaos happening just confused her more. She wished her mother were still alive, for that woman always knew what to say.

“It will be okay, you are safe here.” Difyr said, trying to put Miyuki at ease.

“I…” Miyuki grimaced and took another sip of the tea, trying to figure out what to say. “I don’t wish to be a burden to any of you.”

“Most of the people here had been refugees at some point, even before the raid.” Difyr said. “You have already been such a help with your herbs and Pinja I doubt you will be a burden.”

"I just like helping people…" The kitsune admitted and drank the rest of the tea. "I'm going to rest. If anyone needs me, please wake me and I'll do what I can."

“Would it be alright if I examined you first?” Difyr asked.

“Oh, right!” Miyuki sputtered. “I forgot…uhm, yes, we can do that first.”

“It’s okay.” Difyr said calmly, pulling out a screen. “You can get undressed behind here and there’s a gown.”

Miyuki nodded and went to the screen, quickly changing into the gown before returning to Difyr. A part of her didn’t want anyone to see the scars on her body, but this was a medical professional and the woman had been kind to her. She would not let her personal fears get in the way. If it became too much, though, she would voice it.

“If you get too uncomfortable, speak out.” Difyr said and gently began the exam.

With Miyuki taken care of, Lek went to the green to spar with some others.
