JP - The Keep - Dormitory - Bleeding

Miyuki stayed where she was in order to wait out the chaos, but once she saw Mr Royce being dealt with by the dwarf and the soldier, she calmed down a bit. Her fingers touched at her neck and she had to jerk them away from the now sensitive skin. The last time she'd had a hand around her neck was when she's been attacked by those monstrous men.

Settling her hands on her belly, still very protective of her unborn child, she looked toward Lek. Her ears were folded back as if ashamed or embarrassed and if she could, she would be up and running to her room. That was not happening, though, due to what was growing within her.

Lek looked at Miyuki, he did not like those bruises on her neck. It did not look like she was bleeding at least, but he was still very unhappy about what she had just gone through. “Do you want me to send for Difyr or would you rather I helped you go down to her?”

"I'd rather she not have to run around everywhere," Miyuki said in a soft voice. Speaking too loudly hurt her throat, so she tried to keep her voice down. Using the wall behind her, she started to get to her feet, flinching at the words she could hear as they took her assailant away. Sometimes, heightened hearing had horrible downfalls.

That word still felt like a slap, reminding her of what had happened to get her pregnant. "I…I can't help what happened to me…" She fought back the tears as she spoke.

“Bob, can you tell Difyr that Miyuki is on her way down?” Lek asked.

Bob nodded, giving Kluk more mealworms.

Lek refrained from groaning. “Bob, please tell Difyr what happened here and that Miyuki is coming.”

Bob took off for the healer.

Kluk, having enjoyed the worms that Bob gave her, followed after the man like a good little soldier.

Lek offered Miyuki his hand again. “I know you can’t help what happened.” He said gently. “It happened to most of the women here, and I failed to stop it from happening to any of them.” Lek regretted not saving his little brothers who were killed in the raid, or Pinja from the horrible things that were done to her. He wished it had not happened to Miyuki either. She was kind and a good friend, he wondered if she would have found someone besides him if she had not been hurt like this.

Miyuki hesitantly took his hand and got to her feet. Brushing off, she looked at him skeptically, but forced that stiff smile on her face. “Thank you, Lek. I think I can walk there on my own…” Her voice broke a little as she spoke, but the more she was around him, the more his rejection hurt her. It was like throwing salt on an open wound.

Squeezing his hand gently, she pulled away and started for Difyr’s place.

"We're friends, aren't we?" Lek asked.

Miyuki stopped in her tracks, setting a hand on the wall to keep balance. “Of course, Lek.” She said without looking back at him. Fresh tears were threatening to fall and she silently fought them back.

“Let me help you. Please.” Lek pleaded. He felt terrible about hurting Miyuki. He just wanted to be her friend.

Miyuki didn't argue and simply let him help, despite the emotional turmoil she felt when around him as of late. "Lek," She started, but let the words fade. There was no point in repeating what he already knew. She still cared deeply for him, but felt she had no right to these emotions. "Let's get to Difyr."

Lek gently supported Miyuki as he walked her to the healer’s room. “Friends help each other… I never want you to hurt.”

There had been a lull in the healer’s room. There were still a few women that had not given birth yet, but it looked like nothing else was going to happen until morning.

“I know,” Miyuki whispered and had to lean on him a bit more. The attack - the way Mr Royce had slammed her against the wall - had done something to her back. She had hit her tail and the pain that shot up along her spine had been almost white hot, excruciating. “I…I need to lie down.”

She knew friends helped each other. Hell, she’d do anything she could to help Lek, but Pinja had made her feelings clear. She had no clue how to help them, so all she could do was be kind.

That was when she noticed the blood soaking her pants. “Oh, god!” She gasped.

Lek’s eyes widened at the sight of the blood. He scooped Miyuki up in his arms and ran to the healer’s room. “Difyr!”
