JP - Things were never OK

Colt groaned and suddenly grabbed onto Cody’s wrist. “Stop…” He choked out. “Save it…for another time…”

“Holy shit…” Anna blinked.

“Easy Colt you’re fucked up pretty bad” Lyle replied.

Colt looked at Lyle with his left eye. “Where…where is he?” He asked.

“Who?” Cody asked.

“Thrane…” There was poison in the word as Colt said it.

“I-” Before Tzeitel could tell Klaire she did not know, Colt was conscious and stopped Cody. She did not want to leave Colt, but she did not want to give Colt any ideas right after he kissed her.

“Thrane disappeared.” Ami answered, and flushed.

“I see…” Colt grumbled and started to press a hand to his head, only to let out a hiss of pain. “Why does everything hurt?”

“You kinda got your butt kicked,” Cody answered and smiled at Ami. He wanted her to know he was proud of her for using her power.

“Then let's get him to the Underground.” Anna said in a calm voice.

“Ami…” Tzeitel wanted to fuss over her but there wasn’t time. “Let’s go to the fucking Underground then.”

Ami smiled and shook the swear jar.

Lyle helped Klaire load Colt into the car so they could head out.

Tzeitel tossed some coins in that damned jar and got the kids in her car before getting behind the wheel.

Ami looked at Cody, she wanted to tell him what she saw when Tzeitel touched her.

Cody helped Ami get in the car and sat with her, waiting as they made their way to the underground.

Anna stayed with Lyle while Klaire texted Frisk what happened and that they were heading to the Underground.

“I need a drink” Lyle sighed as they drove towards the underground.

“I don’t even know what to say to him.” Tzeitel whispered, her knuckles white from holding the wheel so tightly. She also happened to want a drink but knew better than to voice it.

Ami tried mouthing ‘Colt kissed Tzeitel!’ to Cody, but was not terribly clear.

Cody raised an eyebrow at Ami. “What?”

Klaire looked at Tzeitel. “It’s gonna be okay…”

As they reached the Underground, Anna let Cody and Lyle handle Colt, who still looked bad. His bleeding had stopped, but the burns were something out of a nightmare. What had Thrane done to create them? The cuts were easy to figure out, obviously claw marks, but the burns…maybe he manipulated the fire? Anna grumbled, frustrated that she could not put all the puzzle pieces together in her mind yet.

Once Lyle handed Colt off to the doctors he approached Anna “you alright?”

“It’s not… I thought things were okay but they never were.” Tzeitel whispered. Her fingers were stiff as they were peeled from the steering wheel.

Ami walked with Cody, impatient to tell him but obviously was not going to blurt it out with Colt right there, or Tzeitel behind her.

Klaire was gentle as she got Tzeitel unbuckled and helped her out of the car. “It’s something you should really talk to Leimomi about. Maybe she can help you both…for now, we need to focus on helping him recover.”

Colt merely let the doctors take him away, groaning a little in pain, but trying to hide most of it. He glanced toward Tzeitel one last time…

“I guess I’ll talk to her about it…” Tzeitel did not miss the look Colt gave her and felt terrible. “Why can’t things be simple? People only liking people that way who will feel the same way back? It’s not fair.”

“Life doesn’t work that way, sadly…” Klaire replied with a sigh.

Tzeitel sighed and leaned on Klaire. “He’s been a good friend to me. I don't want to hurt him, or have him go off and get injured again.”

“From the way the scene looked, I don’t think he went off with the intention of getting injured. I can’t be sure, though…his car was stopped and off, which tells me he was probably trying to help that guy.” Klaire explained and looked toward Ami and Cody.

Cody frowned and sighed. “Of course…”

Cody stopped and looked at Ami. “So, what were you trying to tell me?”

Ami stood on her tiptoes and cupped her hands around her mouth to whisper the secret to Cody. “Colt kissed Tzeitel!”

Cody sputtered. “What?” He whispered. “Are you serious?!”

Ami nodded. “I saw it when she touched me… I think she pushed him away, repelled him or something though. I switched off my powers, it was too much.”

Tzeitel followed Klaire’s gaze. “I wish Ami hadn’t seen that poor guy. She’s just a kid.”

“I don’t think it’s about that guy, Tzeitel.” Klaire murmured.
