The sleeper awakens

Erebor threw the door open to see a squatty creature that looked like a barrel with three spider legs, two arms waving, topped by a head with a bucket-like head and one blazing eye. Joram was trying to hold off the repair robot’s onslaught. Gerrol tried to parry the robot’s flailing arms, but the robot’s attack was too much. Erebor thought for a moment, remembering the robot that had ripped his family apart. He pivoted right, hefted his huge hammer and brought it down on the robot’s head. The droid stopped, then turned to attack Erebor. Gerrol hacked into the cables holding the robot’s head to its torso, the head sagged to the side, but the arms still flailed, scratching his arms up against Erebor’s chain shirt. He growled and then roared as he brought the hammer down on the robot a second time. The spider legs buckled and the life went out of it. The three looked to each other, waiting for the robot to start up again.

The sound of the revelers came in through the silence. And then a small voice squeaked, “Is it dead?”
