Spelling Tips III

If you’ve been around here for a while, you might have already seen Spelling tips – It’s your game they’re looking for and its sequel, Spelling Tips: Part Deux. But that was seven and three years ago, respectively. Now seems as good a time as any for the next in the series. However, we all know that most franchises tend to go downhill with the third installment…

A lot

Alot? No, that’s not even a word.

Allot? Heck no. That’s an entirely different word.

A lot of people make this mistake.

Irony

You know what’s not ironic? A coincidence.

You know what else is not ironic? Pretty much everything in Alanis Morissette’s Ironic.

You would expect role players, people who write all the time, not to make so many grammatical mistakes. Now that’s ironic (i.e., not what you expect, usually in a humorous way).

Then & Than

Then: used when talking about something in relation to time.

Than: used when comparing things.

Back then, I liked chat role playing better than play by post.

Conclusion

We hope you enjoyed the third installment of this series, even though the irony section has nothing to do with spelling. Look for part IV to posted… …sometime within the next few years!

In the meantime, keep role playing… a lot… in either chat or play by post!
