OOC - Game Idea: In the Shadow of Rome

This game idea is a far cry different from most of the games that have graced Ongoing Worlds as of late. This game would be a historical game, designed to try to immerse the players into a time in history in which our world was quite a bit different than it is today.

In this game, we would mostly be playing the role of significant leaders and members of an Alan tribe that is immigrating into the Western Roman Empire during the early/mid 5th Century AD in order to escape the wrath of the Huns. However, settling down in Rome is not as easy as it sounds, and we would have to struggle to find land to call our own while dealing through fickle Roman Administrators, as well as other, less-than-friendly tribes of Visigoths, Vandals, Franks, Alamanni, and other Alans. We'd have to choose our friends and foes carefully amidst the social and political upheaval that took place in the Empire during this period, and unfortunately, time would not be on our side, for the Huns, led by Atilla, are still growing, and soon, even the legendary power of Rome may not be able to contain him...

This would be a historical fiction game, so we would stay true to or stray from history as much as you would like. I understand that a lot of you may not be terribly familiar with the time period I am discussing, but if a lot of you are interested in a game such as this, I will do what I can to effectively present all the relevant information that we will need to know in order to effectively become immersed in this setting and time period.

As always, I'd love to hear (see?) your thoughts, concerns, and suggestions regarding this idea in the comments below.
