First day

"Many would not recall their first day past docking at the port after a hellishly long journey. They would not recall much of that first day past the endless joy of crossing the ocean and reaching land once again. And the jubilant mood on the streets that had greet them. Most were taken immediately towards their future tasks and roles within the small emerging society.

Farmhands to to the crops of mainly root vegetables and to look after the small herds of goats and droves of pigs that fed Ostiarium growing population.
Lumberjacks and woodcutters for the sawmill of Lowood, tanners and butchers to the of the Barracks district. Masons too arriving in this last trip to help with the construction of outer walls and more roads.

The Guards patrolling the streets helped the many that would eventually get lost on that first day to find their bearings. They had a tough job in a city where almost everyone carried a weapon and with such a large military presence. Ostiarium was after all to be the gateway to wider exploration and settlement of Arcadia.

The few that could recall details from that day noted that beneath the celebratory mood of having the ships arrive safely, there was an edge to the settlers. They had the look of a hardy, tough breed who had seen their fair share of disasters in the last few years. Everywhere one looked they could see people busy with preparations for the Festival of Fall in a few days.

Stoneshade Keep stood tall and imposing to the west. Its four watchtowers dominating the city's skyline along with the only fortifications of note one could see...
It was a new city. Built to last in places and built fast in others ,as most new settlements tended to be.

No, not many would not recall their first day past docking at the port... "
