Now that she had a better understanding of what he had been doing, Alwetis shifted gears. <What should you have been doing, instead of this, during meditation class?>

Gonyaul responded, <I should have been on the meditation platform forming my thoughts on your question for presentation later.>

Alwetis nodded and was also pleased he knew what the right course of action was without any prompting, <Which was?>.

Gonyaul reached into his memory banks to answer correctly, <Why is it important to have a hierarchy of values?>

Alwetis nodded again. <So why did you decide not to use the time allotted to you and improve your skill in concentration.>

Gonyaul lowered his eyes in shame for having let down his teacher. To his defense he rallied, <I figured it out early, so I thought I had time to play.>

Alwetis shook her head in disagreement. <You figure it out did you? Are you so certain? Because you did not grasp the lesson of learning how to concentrate for a longer period of time.>

Gonyaul replied confidently at first, but the tone of his hand movements grew less certain by the end. <I think so?>

<We shall see my dear Gonyaul. Please assume the 'stance of long suffering' and enlighten me with what you think you figured out.> Alwetis smirked in amusement as she prepared herself to hear his case. The discipline had begun.

Gonyaul furrowed his brow; however, there was no case to be made to save him. He lowered himself into a wide stance and squatted down till his behind was parallel with his bent knees. He would have to hold this pose until the Orohc bid him stop. Using his hands, he began to sign.
