Lucy You've Got Some Splainin To Do!
As Shadowfang rushed back to the Dagon, she wondered how she would explain this or if they would believe her. She was living it and found it hard to believe.
She reached the hill overlooking the Dagon's landing spot. Lucky they take off, it's what I would have done. She then happened to notice a pissed off Tav stomp pacing across the deck. Suddenly, she felt Shadowfang the Sword coming towards her. "Hey buddy. Yeah, I know I look a little different." Shadowfang threw a rock at the sword. "Dragonborn women don't have bazoombas, you infantile oaf." She reached out to grab the hilt, but Shadowfang, the sword, flew up. "Those wings are a gigantic pain in the ass." Next thing she knew Shadowfang the sword was slapping her on the ass. "Do that one more time, and I will freeze your wings and snap them off. They look like they would taste great with sauce." Shadowfang waggled in the air. "Don't test me."
Tav as she was stomp pacing happened to see Shadowfang the sword heading towards the hill. She pulled out a spyglass and watched. "Is that Shadowfang? Why is he wearing women's armor? His old armor was much better. Shadowfang does look a little different. Gotta be Shadowfang no one else can understand what that flying sword says or even knows when it is trying to speak." She zoomed in more. "Is it just me or does Shadowfang look like a lady?"
Vallana spoke up. "Don't know, can't tell." Tav was startled and jumped. She dropped the spyglass but grabbed it just in time. "Sweet Midwinter! Don't scare me like that." Vallana shrugged. "I thought you knew I was here. It sounded like you were talking to me or at least someone you thought was here." Tav didn't want to get into it. "Here, look." Tav held up the spyglass for Vallana to look at. "That is a female Silver Dragonborn, does kind of look like Shadowfang, but all those bald dragons look alike." Tav looked at Vallana. "Bald?" Vallana shrugged. "You know the horns and head ridges or whatever they are called. Shadowfang doesn't have any, like if you shaved your head. So I call it bald. I think it gives them a snake-like look."
The two Shadowfangs started coming towards the ship. Tav looked through the spyglass again. "That's definitely a woman. She is also wearing what looks like a girdle." Vallana had a moment of clarity. "That might be the Girdle of masculinity/femininity." Tav looked at Vallana, confused. "It's a cursed girdle, sometimes belts. It turns women into men and men into women." Vallana knew the topic of how she knew would come up next, so she volunteered it. "The reason I know is that my uncle was a master of making cursed objects. I helped him in his workshop. He was jilted one day by an ex, so he came up with a curse perfect for her. Word spread, so he started a business to create curses to get revenge. He made me research a bunch on curses before I could go anywhere near the stuff he was working on. Hooboy, some of those curses were whoppers, nothing life-threatening. Gave one girl who was extremely vain a giant wart on her nose. My uncle was working on one of those gender girdles when I quit."
Shadowfang reached the ship. Her new, slightly reduced height made it harder to get on board. "Shadowfang?" Tav asked as she knelt to help Shadowfang up. "Yes. Thanks." Vallana was the first to say something? Got yourself a cursed girdle, didn't you?" Shadowfang grunted. Vallana started examining it. "OH MY DAMH!" She started clapping excitedly. "This is it!" Tav looked over at Vallana. "This is the cursed girdle my uncle was working on. He finally got it to work." Shadowfang looked at the fairy pixie hybrid. "So, how do I remove this thing? How do I change back?" Vallana shrugged. "No clue he got it to work after I left. But I can tell you this, you will be able to change back and forth. Just don't ask me how. Uncle was having a hard time figuring that part out when I quit working for him. I wonder how it got wherever you found it was for, if I remember right, a misogynistic adventurer. Where did you get it?" Shadowfang grabbed Shadowfang the sword by the hilt while it was distracted, listening to the excited hybrid. "I got it from the dragoncave." Vallana looked less excited. "That would be one way to end the curse. I wonder if that fell off the corpse or if it, you know, passed through the dragon." Tav was less worried about whether or not the dragon shit out a girdle. "Who cares if the dragon shit out the gidle. Where were you, and where the hell is Frost?" Shadowfang the sword was trying to get free, but Shadowfang wasn't having it. "I went into town to get this armor, the shopkeeper had it especially made for his sister. It apparently works with the girdle altering to fit whatever body you have." Vallana interrupted. Shadowfang glared angrily at being interrupted. "My uncle may have engineered the armor's ability to fluctuate, then, maybe the shopkeeper used someone different. I can tell if you take off your top." Shadowfang the sword started shouting take it off to Shadowfang. Shadowfang smacked the sword hard against the side of the ship.
"After that, I went to a tavern, I saw Frost there, no clue where he took off to. I then got into a drinking contest with a rather irritable dwarf. Woke up in an inn." Vallana thought it imperative to say something else. "Also, just make sure to use protection. If you get pregnant, you aren't changing back into a man ever again, at least that was my Uncle's theory. So did you spend the night with anyone?" Shadowfang grunted angrily and stomped away. Vallana turned to Tav. "I do believe that means our little girl is no longer a virgin. Gave it up in less than a day. That has got to be a record." Tav chuckled.
