OOC - RULES

For the benefit of all players, please follow these rules when making a character.

1) Keep it realistic modern day. Please no fantasy or sci-fi characters. Also, let's keep it to original characters only.

2) Keep it PG. Romance could happen but if things get hot, fade to black. Characters can get heated and maybe even fight with one another, but let's not get into gorey details about injuries suffered.

3) Give your characters at least one hook and one loop at the beginning so connections can be made to other characters as the RP progresses.

Loops are a way for another character to hook onto yours by claiming a connection. For example, you could say that your character is a third grade teacher at the local elementary school. This creates a loop for others to throw out a hook and connect as a student, fellow faculty member, or even a parent of a student in your class.

Hooks are ways that you give your character a connection to someone who has made a loop available. For example, a character has been created stating that she is the mother of two teenagers but no details are given for those children. You could use a hook to claim to be one of those children with your teenage character. You don't need permission because that loop was put out there and remained empty.

4) Not everything needs to be exciting or dramatic, but likewise, this game is not about keeping things boring either. Show us the nitty gritty down to earth day in the life, but sprinkle in those things that make a particular day or interaction memorable.

5) Remember, we're all friends here even if the connection between characters is not that way at all. Keep in game interactions and disputes in game. If need be, take a break and cool off. No harm, no foul. This goes for romantic encounters too.

6) Finally, try to use your hooks and loops to connect to characters run by other players and not your own. It's okay to have a few connections form between your own different characters. After all, they likely all live in the same town. However, try and keep them to a minimum and focus on those with other characters created by someone else.

If we need to add or change any rules later on, we'll do so as they come up.

ENJOY!
