Flashback

Auriel winced when Jack opened his mouth. She had intentionally not told Telebrin about her relation to Jack, and he had just spilled the beans about that particular fact in a very obvious and undeniable manner. She did find LeLu's affection for Jack to be adorable, though, which caused a smile to come to her face.

"Relax darling. It won't be long before we start our new lives. To be honest I am looking forward to get to work and taking the slavers out of commission. Hey Elthien.....how long before we can moving again? I am itching to get our plan in the works."

Auriel struggled to suppress a shudder as she beheld the wolfish grin that overtaken Jack's countenance. She had seen the expression on the face of her brother, Talin, 23 years ago. It was the expression of a killer, eager for blood and vengeance. Talin's quest had not ended well, and now Auriel feared she was leading Jack astray as well.

Auriel put aside her thoughts and was bringing up a mental list of things she wanted to do before putting Jack into the field, when Telebrin suddenly interjected, "So you two are siblings? I didn't know you had a brother."

"I have a lot of siblings, actually," Auriel muttered. "So, Jack, sorry, Ikan, @#$%." Auriel took a breath to collect herself. After a moment, she continued, "If you two are ready to go, I'd like to track down Isai and and least arrange an appointment with him where we can make legal identities for you two. From there, we'll meet up with one of my agents who should be able to point us in a direction where we can find a slaver band to pick on."

When Jack indicated that he and LeLu were ready, Auriel led them out of the safehouse after waving goodby to Telebrin. Auriel was about to untie her horse, but then better of it. "Barble's place is not too far from here if I recall correctly," she explained to Jack and LeLu.

She then led the group through the streets of Radogast toward where she recalled the skilled hunter's shop being, hoping that Isai would still be there.
