Arriving at Starval

Nathaniel had been traveling through most of the night, hitching a ride in a carriage full of wood. It definitely had been one of the worst night he’d ever had, but it would have been far to dangerous to camp out in the open. Furthermore, by driving through out the night he had gotten even further to his goal while getting at least a little rest, so it should be worth it.

Just as the sun had risen they reached the town of Starval, the carriage stopped and Nate payed the farmer generously for his service. To be honest he had half expected the man to try and rob him during the night or worse, but luckily nothing like that occurred.

Now, having arrived in Starval, Nate pulled the hood of his dark brown and quite dirty cape over his head in order to hide his face, before heading out to find a place where he could get some proper breakfast. He tried to look for an inn that looked neither too shabby to be filled with all the scum of Dalen and not to pompous for any noble to visit. It wasn’t an easy task, but finally he found a suiting place.

Slowly he entered the place, quickly scanning the room to see if there were any guards or familiar faces (though it would be highly unlikely that he would ever encounter any acquaintances in a place like this) before entering. He then casually avoided any eye contact with any of the other few guests as he walked up to the bar, ordered some breakfast and payed the elderly innkeeper.

Having done this he took a seat by an empty table close to the fire. He let out a slight sigh as he stretched out his legs towards the fire to get warmed up after the long and chilly night on the bumpy wagon.
