The hunt

---- Verden, Skeldergate Forest. Afternoon, -547 DBeforeTR ----

The feeling of the wind through his hair and the eagerness of the horse was a wonderful change to his otherwise dull days at the castle. But today Nate had been able to take a break from all the chores and lessons which usually took up all his time. It felt like ages since he had had the opportunity to go hunting like this with only two of his most trusted guards. They were riding through the forest at full speed, pursuing a magnificent stag. This was going to be a great trophy.

Nate spurred on the horse and kept his eyes fixed on the target. They had been chasing the stag for quite awhile now and it was starting to show signs of fatigue. Their horses would also soon be needing a rest, but were far from as tired as the stag.

Relying almost entirely on his horses experience and sure footedness Nate let go of the reins with one hand and reached for his crossbow. The crossbow was already loaded and soon they were entering and area with a little less undergrowth, allowing him to get a clear sight at the stag. This was proably going to be as good an oppotunity to take down the stag as he was gonna get. While still encouraging the horse to keep up the pace he took sight, calmly taking his time before finally firing.

(OOC - I apologise for the short post and poor grammar, but I had to use my cell this time...
Feel free to decide whether or not he hits the stag ;) )
