Mira was surprised to find mail sitting on one of the tables. It was the usual mail one would expect advertisements for decorators, cleaning services, temp agencies, and the like. One letter was on fine paper with beautiful hand writing inside was an invitation to masquerade.
“So, it begins,” she said with a bit of a smile.

She knew that all vampires play the game, she played for the magic denied her.

Up the stairs she pulled out a long black dress, gloves and shoes. She brushed them till they were perfect.
Sitting stark naked, she focused her powers and caused her hair to grow then her nails.

She painted with a black base coat then each one got a different design painted above.
Stars and stones, the symbol for her clan, and then magical symbols. Her hair she braided in an elegant braid letting it fall down her back to her knees.

Breaking a nail, loosing hair, and really dead skin was a problem almost all vampires had. She could help with that for a price.

Looking at a locket watch, she noticed that the event had started. She called for an Uber and dressed.
Her hair, makeup, and clothes were perfect as she waited for the kid to come open the door. He did not get out of the driver’s seat till she asked him showing her two inch sculptured nails. She could not open the door without breaking nails.

She thought to herself, she would be the only Vampire showing up at the Masquerade in an Uber.

She went to introduce herself to the leaders of the city. Fashionably late.
