Channel 8 at 8
The current show playing on the Television was suddenly broken into by a news report. Cutting from the program to a live reporter.
“We regret the interruption with this breaking news report.”
The ‘Please Standby’ cut to a nervous looking woman in a blazer and pinstripe skirt, standing in front of an alleyway quarantine by police tape. “H-hello.” she said, clearing her throat. “Reporting live Jessica Macintosh. We are now on the scene… of another attack.” she said, seemingly on edge as her eyes shifted left and right. “The gruesome criminal the police have begun to call ‘The Butcher of Baker Street’ has attacked yet again. Leaving in his way a violent scene one can not begin to describe. Police have not yet given any details in regards to the attack. Thus far we can only be left to speculate on just how brutal this, the twelfth attack in the past three months. Police urge people to stay indoors unless necessary to travel due to emergency, and travel in groups even in daylight hours.” she went on.
“A secondary reminder.” She looked at the camera dead on. “Avoid places with little light coverage. Such as Alleyways, Culverts, behind stores, or any places teens would go to… ‘spend time alone’ any areas that would be away from other populated areas.”
The reporter seemed like she was about to add more when there was a scream off screen. The Cameraman whipped around to face the person who screamed, seeing them pointing towards the sky. The man followed her pointing finger to the roof, against the light polluted backdrop was a massive hulking silhouette. But before it could be made out as more than a grainy image, not unlike an image of Bigfoot, or an early 90’s UFO. It leapt from the opposite side of the building. Vanishing as panic ensued police ushering people away. The cameraman was jostled a few times and the viewfinder made a b-line for the ground. The News cast cutting to snowy fuzz then black, before cutting back to two shocked news casters. “We…we will keep you informed… Channel 8 News Stay Informed.”
