18: Moonstone

The pet carrier was big enough for Moonstone, Emma Frost carried it carefully and placed it on the back seat of the Range Rover the grated door toward the child seat. Joshua clambered up into the car and secured his belt as Emma used two of the belts to hold the carrier in place.
Once they were moving Joshua's little fingers noodled through the grill as they had against the glass that had separated them at the rescue centre. He tried to tickle the cat's nose and ears.
"Where did you find the name Joshua?" Emma asked.
"She told me Mama."
"Oh did she?"
"Uh huh," the little boy replied, his attention focussed on the cat.
