The Pull

Alexis reached gingerly into Tar's backpack. Her hand was steady but she could feel a nervous twinkle in the pit of her stomach.

It that the last few weeks since meeting the strange former acolyte of Kupen in the depths of Fang, it all seemed to be leading to this moment.

Despite the way he had gone about it, there was no denying that without Tar she would have likely never found Voah and Tarmen. She would have never been able to rescue Hunter, nor being very close to discover the whereabouts of Islana.

Whatever the voices he heard came from there was no doubt that they could be useful. The question was if the price was worth it.

She slowly pulled out the linen covered hammer's head out of the pack and placed it in front of her.

There was no denying it was calling to her. Pulling her in. Alexis Greyriver unwrapped the hammer and was immediately caught in its flickering shadows and light that seemed to be alive, swirling across the metal's surface.
