War on the Plains

Odsier Plains

Despite the loss of someone they had once considered a champion of their own, a faithful servant to Vastad, the Silent Flock pushed on. They had orders from Margrave Otho and a to continue their Crusade against the Maleficium.

They rode north chasing signs of the tribe they were after. Enraged that one of their own had succumbed to sin. Turned her face from the Pillars. It was clear now that these savages were more powerful that anyone could imagine if they had made Arbiter Voah Sahnsuur abandoned them to their fate.

The Purger was right. These savages needed to be destroyed. Obliterated from the face of the world. Arcadia purged to make way for Helians and the everlasting truth of the Pillars.

Their scouts reported that the tribe's tracks were being covered by large swats of disturbed earth. It made their task much harder but not impossible.

The Flock eventually came across The Purple Legion who had been ranging north. They had encountered a decimated Odonine war band who they believed had stumbled upon the tribe they were chasing.

Joining forces the two groups gave chase and a few days after, late at night came across the Red Hand camp.

The Legion's infantry were on the right, Flock riders on the left and down the centre. The two mounted forces surged forward towards the tribes defences. Mounted native bowmen accompanied by spearmen rode out to meet them. But the thrust was a feint, the Helians veered west before engaging, leaving the footsoldiers to attack the camp. Arrows flew. Riders and horses fell.

Wounded enemy were summarily despatched on both sides, throats slit, heads crushed, lives taken. Minutes later the tribesman seeing they had been pulled too far away from their main camp rode back to their defences, having understimanted the the superior cavalry tactics and equipment from the men of steel.

Dorgarag stood among the warriors trying to conduct a counter attack, but knew all they could do now against their for, was to buy time so that as many women and children escaped what was to come. With no Bonecasters of note among the Red Hand he would be spent very quickly.

But he would make the enemies of his people pay for as long as he drew breath.

He whispered a last prayer to Erewhon before calling on his powers. Hoping that they wouldn't fail him to quickly.
