Battling The Skara (Part Two)

Based on what Islana had seen during the mind connection, this thing had several eyes, two arrows would never blind it completely but if she could hit the two eyes in the front, that would be an advantage.

That is where the huntress aimed. The first arrow hit almost dead center of one eye. The second one, hit the other eye but more to the side. It was enough to disorient the Skara who made a loud wailing noise that echoed throughout the valley.

It was right about then that the jackal moved out from the side, with of all things, a giant leg in its mouth. It dropped the leg in front of Islana before running to the other side.

A present?

Picking up the leg, it was studier than initially thought. Actually, it might be perfect. Looking around a thick stick with a sort of point was found.

Between the Sk'elep coming at it, the missing leg, and arrows on its eyes, the Skara was distracted but still managed to move forward.

Islana got an idea, having no idea if it would work. Using that her robes were ripped slightly in places she ripped some of the fabric from them and quickly but tightly tied the stick and leg together.

Either this enormous being was going to die or Islana was.

The Skara stumbled forward and Islana, despite the pain, ran forward and used the mud to slide to its under belly.

This was its most vulnerable part, or so that was the guess. There was no shell, no natural armor under here. The question was not how but where exactly.

Anywhere, might incapacitate it. So, with every bit of might that could be brought to the surface, Islana pushed the makeshift weapon upward and into the Skara.

Not waiting under there for the results, the movements to get out of there were quick but not before some blood splashed on to her robe.

Islana moved to the side by the Sk'elep just to see another of the Skara's legs be ripped off.

Down to the ground the giant scorpion crashed. It flayed a bit, in a pointless attempt to get up.

Islana wished for a sword right now to chop off its head.

Though it didn't matter, as Islana watched the Skara's tail swing up and down a few times before it either succumbed to its injuries or lost too much blood. Either way movements stopped. Upon closer inspection, it was true.

Islana and the Sk'elep had, somehow, managed to kill the Skara.
