Turning Tail

JP with Winteroak and Omni

The man's fighting style was indeed unique. He did not rush, or overcommit. His lunges were measured and controlled. It was obvious by his attacks that he did not want to kill her. He was a duelist. He was in his element and she still could not work out if he was blind or not. Amalu dropped low beneath a high swing from Voah and his dagger sliced across her thigh.

His white-eyes were a bit unnerving but Voah needed to concentrate on avoiding his slashes. He was competent and confident with his weapon of choice and but she was holding her own. Had she wanted to end him, it certainly wouldn’t have been a walk in the park. But she was realizing that he wasn’t trying to kill her either.

Regardless, her missed strikes were frustrating and she wouldn’t stop this until she got her licks in. Taking the cut to the thigh was the last straw for his secondary weapon. Voah swung down with the back edge, forcing him to block and giving her a moment to grab the wrist holding the dagger, kicking him in the side of one knee and loosing the blade from his grasp and jumping back to avoid the slash form his main hand.

The man wasn’t stopped even without his dagger and this was proving to be more trouble than it was worth as he seemed to outmatch her. So she took the brief opportunity to scoop up a handful of sand and hurl it through the air at his eyes as he came at her. With that she turned tail to flee further into the alleyways like a wounded deer. She would have to get away or get real crafty. The last month had taken its toll on her skills.
